KERAGREEN® SOY C-EU is a French-made soy wax specifically developed for container candles. It can be used on its own or blended with fragrance oils and oil-soluble candle dyes.

The KERAGREEN® range is 100% plant-based and formulated without added additives, which means accurate control of temperature, fragrance load, wick and container is particularly important during candle making.

SOY C-EU has a creamy white colour, neutral odour and relatively low melting range. It is suitable for candles poured into glass, metal and other appropriate candle containers.

Not recommended for tealights, as surface cracking may occur.

Technical Specification

How to Work with KERAGREEN® SOY C-EU

As SOY C-EU is a plant-based wax without added processing additives, it can be more sensitive to excessive heat and sudden temperature changes than some modified wax formulations.

For best results:

1. Heat only until the wax is completely melted and avoid exceeding approximately 60 °C.
2. Add fragrance oil at 54 °C or above.
3. Stir gently but thoroughly to distribute the fragrance evenly.
4. Add suitable powdered or oil-soluble candle dye at around 60 °C, where applicable.
5. Pour at approximately 45 °C.
6. Allow candles to cool away from draughts and sudden temperature changes.
7. Larger candles may require a second pour, depending on the container and cooling conditions.
8. Allow at least 48 hours before carrying out a burn test.

Fragrance Load

The optimal fragrance load is approximately 5–8%, with a stated maximum of 10%.

The correct percentage depends on:

• the fragrance oil;
• wick;
• container diameter;
• dye;
• processing temperatures;
• desired scent performance.

More fragrance does not automatically produce a stronger or better-performing candle.

Always carry out a test pour and full burn test before larger-scale production.

Starting TB Wick Recommendations

These recommendations are based on laboratory testing with unfragranced, undyed vegetable wax.

They should be treated only as a starting point. Fragrance, dye, container geometry and other formulation variables can change the required wick size.

A complete burn test is essential for every finished candle formulation.

GMO Information

ADC currently presents the KERAGREEN® range as GMO-Free. As older product information also contained a more cautious statement regarding global soybean sourcing, the GMO status should ideally be confirmed against the current documentation for the specific batch supplied.
